Washington Coast Hike - March 22 - 26, 2010

In late March, the Langley Middle School seventh and Eighth grade Adventure Education students hiked twenty-five miles of Washington coastline. Once again, the weather cooperated (with the exception of day four). The most memorable experiences that I had on this trip would have to be skipping rocks and climbing the pinnacle at Cedar Creek. I took a video camera along on this trip. The raw footage was cut and uploaded to YouTube. Press the play button.

The Washington coast presents students with true adversity. Over the years, students, in their reflective writing, have consistently stated that this trip was the most difficult activity they have ever encountered. The experience presented here is impossible to recreate withing the four walls of the classroom.
